From a dysfunctional group to moderate solo success on MySpace music, Fumez has been there & done it, so why the sudden return after 12 years? Let’s find out!

Where are you based?
London, UK

How long have you been making music?
I started making music in 2006, and then co-writing my own stuff in 2008

What genre would you consider your music to be?
UK Grime, HipHop/Rap

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Music has always been a passion, but I’ve always been shy, or disliked anything I’ve made, I started streaming last year; the confidence I gained from that has helped me start making music again

What are your biggest musical influences?
I would say The Beatles, Oasis, The Lightning Seeds & The Divine Comedy would be my main influences, I also take influence from 80’s artists such as Captain Sensible & UK Grime artists such as Wiley

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m independent

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Becoming a solo artist & splitting from the group I was with, the tension and the arguments we had among us wasn’t a healthy environment to be in

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
4 solo albums to date, I also have a hard drive full of tracks from the MySpace Music day’s, and other unreleased projects

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release is a remix of a track from my second album, it was produced by Calmar after a discussion about the availability of my old material, Calmar thought it would be a good idea to create some track’s from scratch, it’s turned into re-creating an album from the ground up

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
My second album Phaze Two will hopefully be released by October, it’ll make it’s debut on to streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music & Amazon Music, it’ll also be available on CD & Vinyl, details on where to find those will be on my social media pages in the not so distant future. The album will be a close re-creation produced by myself and Calmar, with additional work from other artists such as PJVice, CypherZero & a few others.
