Pop/R&b singer and songwriter from Miami, Fl. Started singing and writing music at age 9 as an escape from a very dark and abusive childhood filled with danger and uncertainty. Music and art were all I had and my talent became my identity. I learned from the best: Whitney, Mariah, Prince, Aretha, – the greats. And I took those influences and created my own soulful sound. I began my career at age 18 and began performing live professionally at age 25. I went on to release 4 studio albums, several online shops, my first book, my autobiography “A CONSTRUCTION OF HOPE” and my YouTube channel
Where are you based?
Miami
How long have you been making music?
Over 15 years
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Pop/r&b, jazz, soul, rock… I’ve done it all
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
The moment I heard a song called “RYTHM OF THE NIGHT” on the radio as a kid in a broken household full of violence and danger, I knew music was my calling in life
What are your biggest musical influences?
The greats – Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Patti Labelle and so many others
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am 100% independent. I had several offers from record labels through the years but none of them worked out unfortunately
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
As with most other indipendent artists out there the financial aspect of the business is one of the biggest obstacles. Music production is incredibly expensive on the professional level and money has to go into more than even just the production process. Promotion, video production, wardrobe, website maintenance, domaine maintenance, fitness, appearance, cd manufacturing, merch and product manufacturing etc. And for us adults, we must maintain a full life of paying for our home bills and all other life expenses in addition to essentially being our own record label. It is definitely not for the majority of people out there
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I have released 4 studio albums to date and am currently working on my 5th studio album
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My latest release from my upcoming studio album, my new single “BOOGIE BABY” is a feel good, high energy pop anthem with funk influence. I wrote the song in the spirit of summer about essentially letting go of troubles and stress and having a good time. A message spanning generations but one that is important now in this crazy world more than ever. This is a pop song but one thing about me – Imma sing the living shit out of anything I record! Haha. I don’t play when it comes to my vocals and I’ve worked my whole life to be the vocalist I am today-something I am so proud of.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
My upcoming studio album as stated previously will be released most likely around December of this year. There are 3 music videos from the album currently and am planning on doing a mini tour to promote the album.
