Strap on your high heels and zip up that catsuit! It’s Me, Buddy is an independent artist on a musical endeavor, engineered to be as honest and raw as he can. From taking as many writing classes as he could, nothing is off limits, exploring topics like fashion and a capitalist mindset, all the way to the emptiness of mental health and self isolation in the digital age, all packaged together with a little glittery eyeshadow, and some silver stilettos.

Where are you based?
The internet.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve never not made music, I began releasing some rough demos of mine back in 2019, then began finishing certain songs and released them in 2020, on an EP called “Diamonds.” Since then I’ve been releasing a few droplet singles, followed by Bedroom Floor, my recent single.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Pop music! Anything/everything pop, dance, and electronic (to come).
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Music is a passion and love project of mine. While I don’t do music as a main job, there’s nothing I love more than writing, producing, and putting it all together. Music is the most freeing thing to me, and if people can relate to it, enjoy it, and bring us together, then my job is done.
What are your biggest musical influences?
I love any artist who’s put their middle finger up to the industry and did whatever they wanted to, unapologetically. It’s people like Lady Gaga, Alaska Thunderf*ck, MARINA, Allie X, and Kylie Minogue that have always inspired me to do what I think is best and to go against the grain, to not follow anyone and make my own path.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent artist, which honestly, I prefer. I love having freedom to do whatever I want, promote in any way that I want, be able to choose my single choices, etc. Of course it comes with it’s own challenges, but I’d take those ones any day.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I wouldn’t say I’ve faced many challenges, but my biggest one is that people take me too seriously, but not seriously enough. It’s music at the end of the day, I think we live in an age where people love to tear everything apart when it’s really just about enjoying what you enjoy. If you like it, great! If you don’t, just move along.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Well, I’ve been releasing music since 2019, my first EP, “Diamonds”, being released in March 2020. I’ve dropped a few droplets since then, but Bedroom Floor marks the first release of my major debut album.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Bedroom Floor was written in a very dark and isolating time in my life which I have moved on from. Nowadays, the lyrics are more about purging my old ways of living, so I can’t really relate to the song anymore, but it’s one of my favorites from my upcoming record. If you can relate to it, just know that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and to just keep moving along. All pieces will fall into place eventually, and you’ll be right where you need to be. I told myself that every day, and I’m in a much better place now.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Bedroom Floor is part of an upcoming album I’ve been working on for a while. I’m hoping to release it this year, so keep an eye out for more singles and an upcoming record!
