Hey! I’m Lily Brooks. I am originally from Memphis, TN, then NYC & for the past 4 years I’ve been a California girl. You may have seen me on TV on shows like The Big Show Show, Life by Ella or the Young & the Restless or you may have seen me as Matilda on the Broadway tour of Matilda the Musical. I love acting but have been singing for as long as I can
remember. I got my first guitar from Santa when I was 4 years old and wrote my first song when I was 5. (It was about how my mama didn’t let me pick out my own clothes.)
After I experienced my first heartbreak at age 16, I threw all of my feelings into songwriting. Pain, anger, sadness, regret, uncertainty, and even new love, hope, and fear are all in my music. I am inspired by so many different genres of music but most of all, I love story-telling.
My music is like a window into my heart at the time I wrote the song. I hope you enjoy!

Where are you based?
I’m originally from Memphis Tennessee and then when I was 9 I moved to NYC and when I was 13 I moved to Los Angeles! I’ve been in LA since then!

How long have you been making music?
I fell in love with music and performing when I was really little! I started in musical theater and music has always been a huge part of my life. But I really started writing my own music when I was 14! I was never confident enough to actually put it out into the world but finally last year I worked up the courage to start recording my music and releasing the songs. And I’m so so glad I did!

What genre would you consider your music to be?
I would consider my music to be singer/songwriter pop! I really enjoy writing in different genres though! I really just write whatever comes to me!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I just love telling stories! And when I was going through my first ever breakup, I really found writing music to be so therapeutic for me in dealing with my emotions and I just wanted to share my feelings with people and see if anyone related and maybe see if my music could help people get through their own heartbreaks and struggles!

What are your biggest musical influences?
A few of my biggest musical influences would be Taylor swift because of how beautiful her lyrics are and how incredibly she can tell a story. That is something I aspire to do with my music in every single song. I also really look up to Sabrina carpenter!

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am signed with Riveting Entertainment! I am so grateful for their help and all that they have done for me!

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I would say that the biggest challenge would be learning the ins and outs of the music industry! Being a singer and songwriter and releasing music is so crazy sometimes and it has been a journey learning about all of the different things!

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
“Wish I Could Forget You” is the 3rd original song I have released! I am so excited for more to come!

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
”Wish I Could Forget You” is about the aftermath of a breakup entwined with memories both good and bad. It is about wishing you good forget every part of that relationship because you will never again have the good times and the bad times are too painful to remember.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I have been working incredibly hard on writing and recording music that I love and am passionate about. I just released a song called “Wish I Could Forget You” and will be releasing a lot of original music in the coming months. I absolutely can’t wait for y’all to hear what I have been working on! I also have truly enjoyed working on “The Young and the Restless”. It has been such an amazing experience and an honor to work on such an iconic show and learn from some amazing actors and actresses.
