Savannah Judy is a 17-year-old singer, songwriter, musician and actor. She and her brother Luke Judy (16) recently formed the indie rock due DUPLEXITY
Where are you based?
We are based out of Beverly Hills, CA. My brother, Luke, and I moved out here with our parents at a young age to start our careers in the entertainment industry.
How long have you been making music?
I have been writing songs preparing to enter the music industry since I was little. I got my first Akai midi and Scarlett solo to make music when I was 12. I started off making beats and tunes. During the pandemic I had the opportunity to spend more time to focus on music. Not only is music fun, it’s good for the soul. Each song you write is like sharing a bit of yourself with the world.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Duplexity’s music is an eclectic collection of alternative and pop rock. Most of our music is upbeat with a rock edge that makes you want to bang your head!
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
For as long as I can remember I have always dreamed of being an artist. Music has been a staple in my life since day 1. I feel so lucky that we are able to form Duplexity, it is a dream come true for me. Music is my life and biggest passion.
What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest musical influences are a mixture of todays music and the early and late 90s. I love the sound and feeling the 90s grunge era of music. I also love punk rock and alternative. If I were to pick my favorite genre it would be alt rock because there’s so many sub genres within it. Some bands I’m heavily influenced by are, Sound-garden, Deftones, and Green Day. I also love modern rock like; Paramore, Arctic Monkeys, and MCR.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am an independent artist with my brother Luke Judy, we are Duplexity.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
I am at the beginning of my music career, so far the biggest challenge has been learning who truly supports us and who doesn’t
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
We have one song released,’ Billboards’ our debut single. We are releasing ‘Drop The Act ‘ Sept 8th and ‘Demons Oct 13th. Followed by a 5 song EP on Oct 20th titled ‘Billboards’
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Inspired by a real-life experience, Drop the Act is the age-old tale of being enamored with someone and exhausting yourself trying to look for signs that they feel the same. It’s an upbeat, fiery, modern rock song that will make anyone who hears it feel the same exasperation that is felt when you are being played.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
We have been working on our 10 song album which will be released in 2024. We are working on a couple music videos to premiere with our releases.
