TC XIII: Aqua is the thirteenth chapter in the Tombstone Chronicles — and it’s all water. Where previous Chronicles have dealt with dust, stone, and fire, Aqua turns to the element that shapes, erodes, carries, and buries. It’s 21 tracks of cinematic Americana, ambient western, and instrumental storytelling — each track a different state of water, from myth to science to plain old survival wisdom.
It’s not a beach album. It’s a deep-water album.
The Concept
Water is memory, movement, and warning in the Tombstone universe. This record follows that thread: ancient currents, climate patterns, sea lore, and the everyday idioms we use to keep from drowning. The production stays widescreen and grounded — Holworks’ signature blend of guitar-driven atmosphere, low-end current, and open-sky space.
The Voyage – Track by Track
1. Aqua Symphony — The overture. Wide, orchestral, and tidal. Sets the key of water for the whole record.
2. Aqualis Awakens — Mythic origin track. Aqualis as a living force rising from the depths.
3. Benguela Current — Cold, fast-moving current off the African coast. Lean, propulsive, northbound energy.
4. Cold, Cold, Cold Water — The shock of immersion. Stark and isolated — survival in minor key.
5. Come Hell or High Water — The promise track. Grit and commitment when the levee breaks.
6. Ebb and Flow — Breathing in rhythm with the tide. The album’s natural pendulum.
7. El Niño — Disruption. Warm water that rewrites weather across the world. Unsettled, powerful, unpredictable.
8. Gulf Stream — The great conveyor. Warm, cinematic, and unstoppable — an Atlantic highway.
9. High Water Mark — Where the water reached and what it left behind. Reflection after the flood.
10. Keep Your Head Above Water — Survival anthem. Simple instruction, harder to follow.
11. La Niña — El Niño’s cold sister. Quieter, but just as world-shaping.
12. Like a Fish Out of Water — Displacement. The western stranger-in-a-strange-land theme, soaked.
13. Rip Current — Undertow that looks calm on top. Tension that pulls you sideways.
14. Rogue Wave — The freak event. Out of nowhere, 100 feet tall. The album’s most intense peak.
15. Sink or Swim — Binary choice. No middle ground. Sparse, decisive.
16. Still Waters Run Deep — The quietest track on the record — and the most dangerous. What’s moving underneath.
17. Surface Deep — Inversion of the old saying. What if the surface IS the truth?
18. Testing the Waters — Cautious first step. Toe in, then wade, then commit.
19. Water Under the Bridge — Letting go. The past flowing downstream for good.
20. When It Rains It Pours — Cascade moment. Everything at once — grief, grace, and runoff.
21. Whirlpool — The closer. A slow spiral that pulls the entire album down to its center and holds it there.
