Char Campbell was raised in Pensacola, Florida, growing up in a home filled with love AND lots and lots of music. She cultivated a deep love for soul, R&B and other genres, listening to artists such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, the DeBarges, Prince and Marvin Gaye.
Char is a mezzo-soprano with power and richness in her tone. Her first single will be released July 17th, Since You’re Gone.

How long have you been making music?
I have been singing all my life, literally since I was a kid. In recent years, I decided to take my career to the next level.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Soul/R&B
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I’ve always did singing as a hobby, although I knew it could be so much more. I feel as though a fire has been lit under me to push forward and share the gift God has given me with others.
What are your biggest musical influences?
My uncle played lots of music when I was growing up. He exposed me to so many talented artists, which encouraged me to play songs and learn how to sing them well.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Independent artist
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Honestly, procrastination. I knew that I could do it, but I had to put myself in the frame of mind to just go for it.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
Since You’re Gone will be my first release.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
This song is about the transparency of a relationship, understanding when two people don’t want the same things. It’s about having the courage to accept this and move on.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I’m currently working on some new material and a video.
