Where are you based?
Philadelphia, PA
How long have you been making music?
I began taking music seriously about 4 years ago and released my first single in 2018.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
I would consider my music to be very much R&B.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
My inspiration came from the lack of what I wanted to hear. In the beginning of my journey in music someone once told me, “If you are not liking what you hear on the radio, make your own music. Make it make sense to you.” And, that’s what I did and that’s what I’m doing. I want to make music that is relevant and relatable to all aspects of your life, not just what you commonly hear in mainstream music.
What are your biggest musical influences?
My biggest influences are DVSN, Maxwell, and Usher. I’ve grown up listening to the legendary vocalist Maxwell and Usher was one of the most played singers in my household besides Sade, Ginuwine, and Boys II Men, to name a few. I have a broad range of music I listen to and the staples of my music today are definitely DVSN, Maxwell, and Usher. They all show versatility and skill and passion, in which what I love the most about their music.
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am a proud independent artist.
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
My biggest challenges in music is having the courage to put my music out there and what I am saying and how I am portrayed. I want to make music that speaks to the mind and heart, but I also want you to vibe out to as well. So, the background part of my music is the biggest challenge. I’m not so much concerned about numbers and stuff like that because it is music, it’s art, it’s my work. I understand some will love it and some won’t. It is for those that love it and finger crossed for those that don’t like it so one day they’d appreciate my music as well.
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I have released one album which is called “For the Lovers Mixtape” which was released in November 2020. It is a album made up of 15 songs.
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
My album “For the Lovers Mixtape” consists of 15 songs that will send you on an emotional rollercoaster! It has a full love story that starts off as someone finally realizing that maybe the last relationship did not work out so you continue to look for love to let’s make love in the rain type of songs back to releasing all that pain and trauma from relationships for you to be able to love again.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
I am so excited for my new single ‘FLIRTIN’, which will be coming out April 7th, 2021. It brings back that raw and authentic sound from my latest release with a little twist. It’s a very refreshing song.
