I’m a French musician, composer from Metz, France. I’m 53.
I’m a school teacher, and I dream to make music for more than 40 years; I studied philosophy in Strasbourg, and became teacher after; I always played music besides. I was in a modest jazz band from 1996 to 2000, and played in a cover rock band much later. Now I play keys and synth in a stoner psyche rock band called “High Mountain”, and I work on my personal projects since 2018.

Where are you based?
Metz, France
How long have you been making music?
I’m playing music for over 40 years, but playing in bands only for ten years (I also play in a stoner psyche rock band called High Mountain) ; Concerning my solo experiments, i began participating on remix contests 4 years ago, and finally I started working on my own ideas, which I release since early 2020.
What genre would you consider your music to be?
Electronic, soundtrack, sometimes classical, expérimental, alternative, with also some bluesy jazzy influences. I don’t want to be sealed in just one genre.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I always loved music, and wanted to know and experiment plenty of bands, genres, styles. Ten years ago, it became an urgency to make music !! I played in a little jazz band 25 years ago, which gave me knowledge of harmony and chords, and the freedom to play with any melody, but my technical pianistic level is average; the meeting of the amazing sampled instruments, with these fantastic sounds, and the new ways to play with music and build it up (especially with ableton live) were the starters to get fully involved in music.
What are your biggest musical influences?
There are so many musicians and periods I had; nowadays it is Thom Yorke with his incredible voice and musical experimentation, but also Floating Points, 4 Tet, Max Cooper, and of course Boards of Canada and Aphex Twins
Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I am completely independent
What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
The hardest challenge was to go beyond my technical limits, which I went over with the new musical techniques; this means also find enough self confidence to release and follow my path
How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I first released my first EP “A brief perturbance in time and space” in 2020, followed by 4 electro singles; 2021 was the Apollo year, I made a whole album about the Apollo 11 exploration, in 2 versions, one with NASA audio samples, and one just instrumental; I proposed the whole album to be remixed on the Metapop remixing community, and this led to 2 new releases: preparing the stems made me want to play with them too, so I first released “Apollo Recomposed” (still in 2021) a rework of my tracks to experiment new musical directions; and in 2022 “Apollo Remixed”, with all the productions of my fellows from Metapop. And finally I released “Les poètes” for Piano Day this year
Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
Les poètes was initially created on demand of a friend who was involved in a poetry music play, and asked me to make a little piano piece to fit “Les poètes”, a poem from the french poet Léo Ferré. This was last year in June. I also experimented an ambient version and proposed it to be remixed on Metapop. As I heard talking about the Piano Day 2022, I decided to release it on this occasion. I’m so proud I has been added on the official Piano Day playlist on Spotify.
Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
A still have materials I would like to work on; but I bought new analogic synth and I want to experiment and create a whole electronic experimental album; I have a few ideas, but never know where these experimentations will take me… time will tell
