Multi award winning Mezzo Soprano – Rhonda Head is from Opaskwayak Cree Nation , Manitoba, Canada.  Rhonda is a 16 time International music award winner.  She writes her lyrics in her Indigenous Cree Language and composes her melodies based off the landscape in her home reserve of Opaskwayak.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
The album is about loss and finding happiness again – WANISKA means to rise up/awaken in the Cree Language. Working on this album was very emotional, spiritual but it also brought great joy. Coming from a remote reserve in northern Manitoba, this was one amazing journey from the beginning stages of the album to the final take.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
Performing at Carnegie Hall with Flin Flon Choir and attending a song writing residency in Banff Alberta
